No Rules. No Expectations.

Guided by intuition and the joy of creating, I try to work without expectations, boundaries or preconceptions.  I am drawn towards a raw, energetic, tumultuous expression.  The depth of layers, colours and gestural movements are made with true intention.  My process involves the layering of paint, sometimes charcoal and pencil crayon for mark making then adding and subtracting by scratching, spritzing and rubbing.  This creates a lovely layered, textured work that invites you to look closer.  What do you see?  How does it make you feel?   

With these paintings I have pushed through boundaries and self-doubt and affirmed the need to live in the moments, however fleeting, of beauty and light. My intent is to evoke emotion and bring joy to the viewer.
